Couldn't recommend more for a quick break
Lovely room, excellent breakfast, with a very helpful staff that made our stay enjoyable and convenient, allowing us to leave our car in their yard after checkout for a short hike around the lake.
There was nothing I didn't like.

We had a lovely stroll from the beautiful shores of Derwentwater. The hosts were warm and accommodating, and we enjoyed crafting our breakfast choices the night before. The views from our room were stunning, making our stay with our grandchild very special.
My wife says that a play area for kids would make this place better for families.

Acorn House exuded charm with its period features and tastefully decorated common areas. The cozy guest lounge, complete with a real log fire, created a welcoming ambiance during the chillier evenings, making it accessible and delightful for senior guests.

pleasant stay but not perfect
The staff provided exceptional service, ensuring we had soy milk for breakfast each morning. The traditional British breakfast menu offered a delightful selection, making our mornings enjoyable.
The garden view was nice, but it could have felt more private.

would not hesitate to return there
Room had a flat-screen TV, private bathroom with shower, and shower cap. Cozy seating area with a wardrobe, and the bed had non-feather pillows. there were amenities like shampoo, body soap, and electric kettle. Breakfast had fresh choices like Eggs Benedict, excellent quality, and they provided soy milk on request. Really nice outdoor seating area too.

Room size could be cramped for some travelers, with limited space to move around, especially for those with larger luggage. The shower cubicle leaves much to be desired—it's quite small, which can make for an uncomfortable experience. the requirement to pre-book breakfast the night before can be a hassle if you want to decide in the morning what to eat.

The room was spacious with comfy amenities, including tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast featured gluten-free options, which was a thoughtful touch. A quick stroll to the town offered plenty of dining choices, while the peaceful surroundings made for a restful night. the hash browns at breakfast could use improvement, and the arrival process was quite basic, lacking some charm. Finally, while the area is quiet, a little more attention to detail in room maintenance would enhance the stay.
